Dave Song of the Month...

Christmas Song

She was his girl; he was her boyfriend

She be his wife; take him as her husband

A surprise on the way, any day, any day

One healthy little giggling dribbling baby boy

The wise men came three made their way

To shower him with love

While he lay in the hay

Shower him with love love love

Love love love

Love love is all around

Not very much of his childhood was known

Kept his mother Mary worried

Always out on his own

He met another Mary for a reasonable fee, less than

Reputable as known to be

His heart was full of love love love

Love love love

Love love is all around

When Jesus Christ was nailed to the his tree

Said "oh, Daddy-o I can see how it all soon will be

I came to shed a little light on this darkening scene

Instead I fear I spill the blood of my children all around"

The blood of our children all around

The blood of our children all around

The blood of our children all around

So the story goes, so I'm told

The people he knew were

Less than golden hearted

Gamblers and robbers

Drinkers and jokers, all soul searchers

Like you and me

Rumors insisted he soon would be

For his deviations

Taken into custody by the authorities

Less informed than he.

Drinkers and jokers. all soul searchers

Searching for love love love

Love love love

Love love is all around

Preparations were made

For his celebration day

He said "eat this bread and think of it as me

Drink this wine and dream it will be

The blood of our children all around

The blood of our children all around"

The blood of our children all around

Father up above, why in all this anger have you fill

Me up with love

Fill me love love love

Love love love

Love love

And the blood of our children all around

All you need is love

You can't buy me love

Top 5 Movies That SHOULD Be Remade

There are no more original ideas in Hollywood anymore. So the studios decide to dust off some older movies, and give them an updated version of the movie. And people like myself just get frustrated. However, sometimes there are movies in history that were good ideas and were good for the time, but are in desperate need of a remake. If some movies from the 80's got a 2012 update, I think they would be awesome!

So here are what I think are the Top 5 movies that SHOULD be remade.

1). Robocop - This is a cool idea for a movie. Regular cop gets beaten within a inch of his life and gets a robot makeover. Pretty cool if you ask me. I even had the action figure. But if you watch this movie today, you almost have to look away because of the graphics and poor acting by Peter Weller. If you put some high quality actors in the movie and give it some of today's technology in it, this movie would be bad ass!

2). Spies Like Us - This movie is hilarious! Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase are an awesome comedy duo. The only thing wrong with movie is that no one knows about this movie. It flies right under the radar with some people today. I say, "ya know whats a funny movie?......Spies Like Us". And people are like....."what movie?". Which is just sad because this movie is so freakin funny. So if you remake this movie and put a couple of current SNL guys in it. Guys like Andy Samberg and Bill Hader. Or maybe Seth Rogen and Jason Segal. If you give it an update.....oh man, that would be awesome.

3). Revenge of the Nerds - I love this movie. But watching it today, I just feel that it needs to be redone. But maybe not go all out Nerd. Get rid of the pocket protectors, and high pants, and the glasses and put in some wimpy kids who can't get girls and like comic books. Like put in the cast of The Big Bang Theory and the kid who played McLovin in Superbad (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), make it Rated R and you got one hilarious movie.

4). Running Man - The idea has been done. Several different ways. A guy on Death Row has to compete in some sort of game to the death, and if he wins.....he gets his freedom. So just redo the exact same movie but give it an update. Put some bad ass assassins in the movie instead of some lame old guys with neon lights and stupid outfits. Put a decent action star in the movie, and that would be a movie that I would watch.

5). The Neverending Story - I watched this movie a hundred times as a kid. And it's still fun to watch today. The main reason that this movie needs a remake is graphics. 80's graphics are hard to look at now-a-days. And this one has a lot of them. With some 3D graphics and some big name kid actors in the roles and you got yourself a fun movie!

Honorable Mentions - The Breakfast Club - Some Kind of Wonderful - Bloodsport

So there they are. The Top 5 movies that SHOULD be remade. I hope that some of these movies actually get remade. That would be awesome. Yes Indeed.

Top 5 Worst Actors and Actresses

This entry has been long overdue. There are just some actors and actresses out there who can't really hack it. Are they good looking? Sure. Are they in a bunch of movies and make millions? You bet. But they are just not good at acting. So they are not free from my list. So here are who I think are the worst actors and actresses in movies. (with some honorable mentions)

1). Paul Walker - I can't stand watching this guy. He just can't act, and he keeps showing up in these action movies that require a little bit of acting ability that he just doesn't have. It makes sense that his last name is Walker because every time he is on screen, that's what i become...."A Walker" away from his movies.

Worst Performance: The Fast and the Furious

2). Jessica Alba - Is she beautiful? Without a doubt. Is she super sexy? Yes indeed. But can she act? Nope. Just watch Machete. Funny movie and I love Robert Rodriguez movies, but she was just hard to watch.

Worst Performance: Machete

3). Dane Cook - Is he funny? Extremely. I saw him in concert. He's hysterical. But he needs to just do that. He can't act. He just can't. Dane Cook....just stick to stand up comedy.

Worst Performance: Dan In Real Life

4). Megan Fox - Just like Jessica Alba. Is she incredibly sexy? Unbelievably sexy, but she can't act. Her looks will continue to put her in movies and that's fine. It's probably the only reason she was in Transformers 2. She was not missed in Transformers 3.

Worst Performance: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

5). Channing Tatum - Some of his line deliveries are just awkward. And there was a ton in G.I. Joe. He's just not that good. He's in some upcoming comedies so we'll see if does any better in those.

Worst Performance: G.I Joe

Honorable Mentions - Ashton Kutcher - Miley Cyrus - Paris Hilton - Jessica Simpson

So that's my list. These people just can't hack it. Yes Indeed.

The Yes Indeed Papers Salute...

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston definetley deserves this salute. I read and hear alot about how bad an actress she is but I disagree. I think she's a really good actress and deserves way more credit. She's funny, exrtremely sexy, and can do a little bit of drama as well. But it was her role in Horrible Bosses that made her my November pick for the underappreciated actor. She was awesome in that movie, she's awesome in most movies. Here are some of her more memorable movies.

  • Friends

  • Picture Perfect

  • Office Space

  • Bruce Almighty

  • Along Came Polly

  • The Good Girl

  • The Break Up

  • Marley and Me

  • He's Just Not That Into You

  • The Bounty Hunter

  • The Switch

  • Just Go With It

  • Horrible Bosses

Coming soon, Aniston stars in Wanderlust with Paul Rudd, and it looks pretty hilarious. Jennifer Aniston is a really good actress who doesn't get enough credit. I mean, she's Rachael Green for crying out loud. So from all of us here at The Yes Indeed Papers, (and by all of us, I mean just me) Jennifer Aniston, we salute you......Yes Indeed!

Horrible Bosses

So I wrote a blog a little while back about movies aren't Rated R anymore and I think it reached some people because I recently watched Horrible Bosses and it was that Rated R hilarious comedy that hasn't been seen in quite some time.

I was expecting a funny movie but I what I watched was a raunchy, gut-busting comedy filled with bad language an awesome cast. Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day star as 3 guys who hate their bosses. Bateman's boss, played by Kevin Spacey, is a a cruel, mean, nasty company president who feels that is his mission in life to make Bateman's life a living hell. And he does. Spacey is awesome as the main villain in this movie and he gives the movie that a**hole that it needs. He plays the part with just enough sleaziness and comedy that is awesome.

Colin Farrell plays the boss of Sudeikis and is a coke addicted son of a boss who takes over the company when his dad dies suddenly. And all Farrell wants to do is get as much money as he can out of the company to live fat. Farrell makes a surprising turn as an overweight, balding jackass who brings the perfect amount of douchebaggery that the role needed. The character needed to be played as a giant tool and boy did he deliver.

Jennifer Aniston plays Charlie Day's boss, a dentist who is hell bound to sleep with Day before he gets married. To me, Charlie Day and Jennifer Aniston stole the movie. Charlie Day is really solidifying himself as a comedy actor and Jennifer Aniston was almost unrecognizable. The stuff that came out of her mouth was ridiculous! She was super filthy and was just awesome to watch. I hope she decides to venture out and do more roles like that in the future.

Horrible Bosses is an awesome comedy that is guaranteed to make you laugh again and again. I asked for more Rated R movies and so far, so good. Horrible Bosses is just freakin hilarious, yes indeed.

So Much To Say

Say my hell is the closet
I'm stuck inside
Can't see the light
And my heaven is a nice house
In the sky
Got central heating
And I'm alright
Yeah, yeah, yeah...
Can’t see the light
Keep it locked up inside
Don’t talk about it
Talk about the weather
Can't see the light
Open up my head and let me out, little baby
Here we have been standing
For a long, long time
Treading trodden trails for a long, long time
I say my hell is the closet
I'm stuck inside
Can't see the light
And my heaven is a nice house in the sky
Got central heating and I'm alright
Here we have been standing for a long, long time
Treading trodden trails for a long, long time
I find sometimes it's easy
To be myself
Sometimes I find it's better to be somebody else

I see you young and soft oh little baby
Little feet, little hands, little baby
One year of cryin' and the words creep up inside
Creep into your mind
So much to say
Here we have been standing for a long, long time
Treading trodden trails for a long, long time
I find sometimes it's easy
To be myself
Sometimes I find it's better
To be somebody else

So much to say
Open up my head and let me out
Little baby

Footloose vs Footloose

Vs.

So my wife and I saw the new Footloose movie last night. We were both pretty hesitant because we're huge fans of the first one. I mean it's Kevin Bacon. Why would you remake this movie? So since we are such big fans, we felt obligated to see the new one. And I got to tell ya, it was awesome!

Now right away, I want to say that it is not better than the first one. I mean the first one is the original but it's not about one being better than the other. It was a decent remake. I was expecting a lot worse but it was really a lot of fun to watch. The acting was good, the story received a little tweaks but they weren't bad tweaks. They meshed well with the original story. The dancing also received an update, as to be expected but again, it made for a fun movie. I was really impressed. It was also pretty funny. An relatively unknown actor named Miles Teller played Willard and he almost stole the show with some of lines and delivery. Kenny Wormald played Kevin Bacon, I mean Ren. But he did a pretty good job as well. Julianne Hough played Ariel and she almost did a better job than Lori Singer who played the part in 84'. A must better dancer at least. My only disappointment was that Kevin Bacon didn't make a cameo. That would have been awesome.

Overall, it was a good good movie. If your a fan of the 1984 original, watch the new Footloose, and be prepared to have a good time. Cut loose.....yes indeed!

The Yes Indeed Papers Salute...

Timothy Olyphant

Timothy Olyphant is my October pick for the under appreciated actor. He's had some great roles so far and I'm sure will have some great roles in the future. He also plays great villain, like his roles in The Girl Next Door and Live Free or Die Hard. It was only a matter of time before he became the lead actor in a movie, and he was awesome in Hitman. The reason he is my pick for the under appreciated actor is if you mention his name, most people don't know him. But if I show them a picture or something like that, they recognize him right away. I love watching him. Here are some of his more memorable roles.

  • Scream 2

  • Gone in 60 Seconds

  • Rock Star

  • Dreamcatcher

  • The Girl Next Door

  • Catch and Release

  • Live Free or Die Hard

  • Hitman

  • A Perfect Getaway

  • The Crazies

  • Elektra Luxx

  • I Am Number Four

  • Justified (TV series)

Timothy Olyphant is an awesome actor who doesn't get enough credit. He kills it in every role he's in. People need to recognize how good this guy is. Timothy Olyphant has some good good stuff. So from all of us here at The Yes Indeed Papers (and by all of us I mean just me), Timothy Olyphant, we salute you! Yes indeed.

Top 5 Upcoming Actors / Actresses

This entry is long overdue. I'll always watch a movie and get blown away by a specific performance and I get really excited about future roles. So I've decided to share my thoughts and say who I think will have huge movie careers and have fantastic upcoming movie roles.

So here are what I think are the Top 5 Upcoming Actors and Actresses.

1). Joseph Gordon-Levitt - Probably my favorite actor at this time. I am so excited to see 50/50. He made a huge impression on audiences in A River Runs Through It. Gave us a ton of laughter with 3rd Rock From the Sun and got the girl in 10 Things I hate About You. But it was his performances in 500 Days of Summer and Inception that made him a household name. He's freakin awesome! I'm making a prediction that he will win an Oscar at some point in his career.

2). Michael Fassbender - This guy's got it. The look, the skills, he's kills it in every performance. He made his mark in Inglorious Bastards and was nasty as Magneto in Xmen: First Class. Fassbender is a good actor. Probably the first to win an Oscar on this list.

3). Tom Hardy - This guy's good. He was unbelievable in Bronson, which caused Christopher Nolan to cast him in Inception. And that's definitely not a bad relationship to have. I can't wait to see him kick some ass in The Dark Knight Rises! Another future Oscar I think.

4). Bryce Dallas Howard - I love her! She made the movie The Village, was the only reason Lady in the Water was watchable and was kick ass in Terminator Salvation. She can play almost any role. Both good and evil. She was sweet in The Help as Hilly Holbrook. She gonna turn some heads in the future. Oscar winner within 10 years.....probably. But would you expect anything less from the daughter of Ron Howard.

5). Chloe Moretz - If you've seen Kick Ass, you know why she's on the list. Nuff said. This girl's gonna be huge! And she was hilarious as Joseph Gordon-Levitt's little sister in 500 Days of Summer. Huge career.....huge. Oscar winner, definitely.

So that's my list. These actors and actresses will be have huge careers. Just watch. These people are awesome and I can't wait to see what they're gonna do in the future. Yes indeed.

Honorable Mentions: Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Bailee Madison (Just Go With It)

Dave Song of the Month...

Ants Marching

He wakes up in the morning

Does his teeth bite to eat an he's rolling

Never changes a thing

The week end, the week begins

She thinks, we look at each other

Wondering what the other is thinking

But we never say a thing

These crimes between us grow deeper

Goes to visit his mommy

She feeds him well his concerns

He forgets them

And remembers being small

Playing under the table and dreaming

Take these chances

Place them in a box until a quieter time

Lights down, you up and die

Driving in on this highway

All these cars and upon the sidewalk

People in every direction

No words exchanged

No time to exchange

And all the little ants are marching

Red and black antennas waiving

They all do it the same

They all do it the same way

Candyman teasing the thoughts of a

Sweet tooth tortured by the weight loss

Programs cutting the corners

Loose end, loose end, cut, cut

On the fence, could not to offend

Cut, cut, cut, cut

Take these chances

Place them in a box until a quieter time

Lights down, you up and die

Scream 4

So I watched Scream 4 last night, and I actually really liked it. It was right up there with the first one. Scream 2 and Scream 3 were kinda lacking a lot in story. However 4 was actually pretty good.

Kevin Williamson took a stab at this one and really delivered. Good character development along with a decent story made this a good scary movie. These types of movies are more jumpy than scary but what makes this a good movie is the mystery of it all. Scary movies with zombies, vampires, or a killer like Michael Myers are scary but there's no mystery. You know who the killer is right away, and don't really care why their killing. With Scream, you find yourself guessing the entire time as to who the killer is. It really makes for an enjoyable movie experience. I took 2 guesses as to who the killer was and I was wrong both times.

Also, with Kevin Williamson, your promised a lot of movie references and some corny but fun scary moments. I really think that he delivered this time. A good story with bad language and an R rating makes this a decent flick. Scream 4 also has one of the better Scream endings than the previous two films.

If you want a fun scary movie for Halloween time, Scream 4 is a good pick. Yes indeed.

Win Win

I borrowed this movie from a friend who told me that this was a good movie. Actually, I was told by a few different people that this was a good movie. So I watched it.......and I like it.......a lot!

This is a very simple story of a family man played by Paul Giamatti who owns his own law practice. And everyday discovers that life is not hard.....it's really freaking hard. Everyday has no challenges and new problems and more importantly, and each problem has a dollar sign next to it. He then comes upon a kid who is the grandson of a guy that is not only his client, but who he just became the guardian of. The grandfather that is. He lets the kid stay with him until he can go back to his mom. But the kid doesn't want to go back to his mom. So Giamatti takes the kid in and discovers that the kid is incredible at wrestling. Doesn't sound like a good plot.....sounds kinda boring actually. It looks like one of those movies where if you watch the preview, you feel like you already know how the movie's gonna go. However, after watching it, I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. At least I was.

This is a really really good movie. It's very simple, and it's it's got a real life, great ending. Great acting on top of it all makes this a remarkable movie. It will definitely will surprise you, if you give it a chance. Anyways, check it out if you want......which you should.....yes indeed.
