Men In Black 3

So I was skeptical about this one. The 1st Men In Black was great......for 1997. And Men In Black 2 was, well, kind of dumb. So I didn't really have my expectations set too high for the 3rd installment. However, now that I've seen it, I must say that it was really a lot of fun to watch!

Men In Black stars the usual Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as agents who monitor and protect alien life on the planet Earth. This time however, it was very well written. The basic plot is an alien assassin who breaks out of prison and goes back in time to kill the agent that put him in prison, Tommy Lee Jones. The assassin is successful and therefore time gets altered and Will Smith now has to go back in time to stop it. Now time travel can be tricky and needs to be well written in order for it to make sense. More often than not, there will be holes in the story that the writer forgets about or something like that. Men In Black 3 offers a good movie with a good story. I liked it! Also, they added some better actors and characters in this one. And thank God! Watching Lara Flynn Boyle, Johnny Knoxville and Rip Torn was extremely annoying. This one offers a much better quality film with good writing and some great action scenes. Also, the aliens in this one were done really tastefully. Not some 30 foot tall alien that had 4 other guys beneath him and could fly. The third installment redeems the entire series.

Men In Black 3 is fun, has some really good 2012 special effects, and has a well written plot. I would recommend this movie. It's not going to win any awards or anything, but who cares? Right? Movies are supposed to be enjoyable and Men In Black 3 is! Check it out. Yes Indeed!

Top 5 Chevy Chase Movies

So I was watching Christmas Vacation the other day and was enjoying the hilarious comedy that is Chevy Chase and that's when I started thinking about all of his movies. He hasn't been in anything lately but man, does he have some great movies. He actually would be a great candidate for the salute to the unappreciated actor but I decided to do a top 5 list instead. So here are what I think are the Top 5 Chevy Chase movies.

1)  -  National Lampoon's Vacation - I don't think there is a question here. Not only is this a classic movie, but this movie was made for Chevy Chase. Hilarious. Good talk Rust.....

2)  -  National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - This not only goes down as one of the best Christmas movies but one of the best Chevy Chase movies. "If I woke up with my head sowed to the carpet I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now."

3)  -  Caddyshack  -  "I was born to love you........I was born to lick your face.......I was born to rub you........but you were born to rub me first". Nuff said.

4)  -  Spies Like Us  -  One of the funniest movies that not a lot of people know about. Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd kill it in this movies. "All right stop right there, and I'll bring back the sun." This movie is hilarious.

5)  -  Three Amigos  -  Also one of the greats. They don't put 3 hilarious guys like these together in movies anymore. Classic. I guess you could call this movie....infamous? (the right people will get that joke).

And there they are. the Top 5 Chevy Chase movies. Boom. Thank you, thank you, thank you Chevy Chase.

Drive

So I know I'm a little late in watching this movie. To be honest, I really didn't want to see it. I thought it looked kind of boring. But after watching it, I have to say that this movie was awesome.

Drive took me by surprised. I didn't know what to expect. However, what Drive did, what take an action filled movie and gave you these little blurbs that were filled with action, drama and a ton of emotion. Not to mention, a good story that wasn't too complex and some really good acting. For example, the script is great. It is done very subtly. It was nice to sit down and watch a movie that didn't have a thousand things to pay attention too, and still able to follow along perfectly. Next, the movie is Rated R so when it's time for some violence.....it's time for some violence. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. If you've seen this movie then you get it. And finally, this was written so well. Mainly for a couple of small reasons. One, when certain plot points are discovered in the story, instead of having a 20 minute scene about how they feel, they just had a 2 minute scene without any dialogue what so ever. And that 2 minutes has more emotion than a lot of other movies. And two, one of the neatest things about this movie is that you never know the name of Ryan Gosling's character. And the funny thing is, you never even realize it until the movie's over and you see the credits and it says; Ryan Gosling: Driver/The Kid. I thought that was cool.

So I shame on me for not giving this a chance. Drive is a good good movie that people should experience. And Ryan Gosling, shows himself to be a strong actor. So watch Drive, and prepared to be taken by surprised. Yes indeed.

Dave Song of the Month

Tripping Billies

We were above
You were standing underneath us
we were not yet lovers
Dragons were smoked
Bumblebees were stinging us
I was soon to be crazy

Eat drink and be merry
For tomorrow we die
Eat drinnk and be merry
For tomorrow we die
We're tripping billies

We're wearing nothing
Nothing but our shadows
Shadows falling down on
      the beach sand
Remembering once, out on
      the beaches
We wore pineapple grass bracelets

So why would you care
To get out of this place
You and me and all our friends
Such a hasppy human race
We're tripping billies

We are all sitting
Legs crossed around a fire
My yellow flame she dances
Tequila drinking, oh,
      our minds will wander
To wondrous places

So why would you care
To get out of this place
You and me and all our friends
Such a happy human race
Eat drink and be merry
For tomorrow we die
Eat drink and be merry
For tomorrow we die
