So there was no buzz around this movie due to the last Adam Sandler movie Jack & Jill. That movie was horrible and pretty much scared everyone away from this one. But I'm here to tell you that this movie, was actually pretty funny.
It's the story of Adam Sandler who hooks up with his Jr. High teacher and they have a kid together. The teacher gets arrested and the Adam Sandler gets famous. Now all grown up, Sandler's kid (Andy Samberg) is getting married and Sandler decides to crash the wedding weekend for various reasons and madness ensues. The reason this movie is funny is because it's Rated R. And that's the only way it could have been done right. The comedy is very crude which makes for a good time. You get to see Sandler's horrible yet funny parenting skills which are funny. Examples include letting his son eat candy and cake which turned him into a diabetic. He has a New Kids On The Block tattoo on his back and is embarrassed because his body grew and now the tattoo is all warped. Oh, and the fact that he named his kid Han Solo......awesome! There are some hilarious cameos and some outrageous parts of the story. This isn't the funniest movie that I've ever seen but it definitely made me laugh.
This movie is good if you give it a chance. The duo of Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg makes for some good comedy. If you're looking for a movie to occupy your time on a Friday night, That's My Boy is not a bad choice.
