Tim Roth

Tim Roth is my August pick for the unappreciated actor. He hasn't been in as many films as most, but when he does, he kills it every time. He is so good at delivering some great moments of intensity. He has this look about him that can be almost evil in a way. His performance in Planet of the Apes was unbelievable. And he was awesome in Reservoir Dogs. He is so good in so many roles and yet, not too many people know about him nor has he gotten any sort huge award for the amazing performances that he did. He deserves way more credit. Here are some of his more memorable roles.

Tim Roth is the man, and I think he deserves a lot more credit. I hope that directors like Tarantino will utilize him more and put him in some upcoming movies. So from all of us here at The Yes Indeed Papers (and by all of us I mean just me), Tim Roth, we salute you! Yes indeed.

Top 5 Fight Scenes

So here are what I think are the Top 5 best fight scenes from movies. There is probably going to be a lot who don't agree, or don't agree with the order, but my blog.....my list. Here we go.

1) Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith - Anakin Skywalkwer vs Obi Wan Kenobi

This one did it for me. The light saber battle to end all battles. It went on for like a half an hour and blew me away. The move that these guys were doing was awesome and the intensity behind it was fantastic. Probably not every ones #1, but I don't care. This fight scene was unbelievable.


2) The Matrix - Neo vs Agent Smith

This one rocked! An epic battle with all styles of Kung Fu that blew people away when they first saw it. This one set a whole new standard on fight scenes for future movies. Just awesome!

3) Kill Bill: vol 1 - Uma Thurman vs The Crazy 88

It's one chick with a sword taking on 88 guys with swords. You can't tell me that this fight scene isn't legendary. She takes them all out, and then goes and has another fight with Lucy Liu. Awesome!

4) They Live - "Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs Keith David

All Roddy Piper wanted was for Keith David to put on the sunglasses and he didn't want too. This scene is soooooo good! It was even imitated exactly on a episode of Southpark. This fight scene should be on everyones list! Just gritty, 80's punches that make fights so good.

5) Raider's of the Lost Ark - Indiana Jones vs the Arabian Swordsman

Indiana is taking on guys left to right. All of a sudden, the crowd parts, there's this huge guy with a sword doing all this fancy sword work. So what does Indy do? Pulls out his gun and shoots him. Classic!

Paul

Saw this one last week. Didn't know what to expect but overall, I though it was awesome.

Paul is the story of two guys from England, who come to America on a trip to Comic-con, then head across the country touring alien hot spots like Area 51, the black mailbox, stuff like that. Upon their travels the meet Paul, an Alien that crash landed here in 1947. Graeme and Clive, played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, decide to try and help Paul get to his ship so he can go back home. Comedy then ensues.

The reason that Paul is good is for three reasons. One, Paul is voiced by Seth Rogen. And his delivery of the jokes are perfect. Two, the movie was written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Same guys behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and those movies rocked. And three, this is essentially the movie E.T., but its Rated R, it has a lot of cursing, and it's hilarious. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who wants to laugh.

Paul is an awesome movie! Yes indeed.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Saw this one last weekend. Good movie. Good script. Action was good, actors were good, and it set up the Avenger's movie perfectly. However, there were some parts that I didn't really enjoy. So I'll say that I liked about 95% of this movie.

I liked all of the movies that have been leading up to The Avenger's. Iron Man 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America. Captain America was a great movie. The action sequences were awesome. The graphics were great. I'm still baffled as to how they made Chris Evans look scrawny like that. And like I said, the story incorporated everything it needed in order to bring together the Avenger's movie.

What I didn't like about this movies were only a couple small things. First, the villain in this movie, Red Skull (played by Hugo Weaving), obtains this energy source, and is able to weaponize it. He puts it in a gun and when you get shot by it, you essentially disintegrate. Not only does he weaponize it, all of his soldiers have it and it almost had like a space laser gun type feel and I didn't like that. I mean, it's WW2. I don't think they should have made so every soldier had one. And speaking of the soldiers. The Nazi group called Hydra, all of the soldiers had these mask/helmet things and they all looked like drones. And I know they're like that because that's how it is in the comic books. But I would have liked it better if they were just regular soldiers. And finally, there is a fight scene between Captain America and Red Skull and I think it was kind of weak.

But don't get me wrong, the movie was awesome. Chris Evans was perfect for the role. Hugo Weaving killed it as Red Skull. The story was well written and it was a great action movie with the right amount of comedy. And at the end, there is a trailer/clip of The Avengers and it looks bad ass! So check Captain America out. I know I talked more bad than good about it but it really is a awesome movie. So there ya go... yes indeed.

No Strings Attached

Watched it. Natalie Portman's awesome. Ashton Kutcher's lame. Friends With Benefits was better. Way better actually.

This movie, didn't really make sense at times. It could have been way funnier. Don't get me wrong, there was some really funny parts, but overall, it was....eh. The beginning was dumb, the ending was horrible, and the middle was just lacking all over. There was no chemistry between Kutcher and Portman. The sex scenes were not sexy or funny. The story was thrown together and just didn't fit. There were characters that didn't need to be there. There were people who acted like A-holes and didn't get what was coming to them. And it was Rated R but there wasn't anything R Rated except for a couple of curse words. The movie was kinda dumb. But Portman was good. She's always good.

Friends With Benefits was way better. I would recommend that one over this one, any day of the week. Watch that one, not this one.
