Labels

There are some people who when are in relationships, don't like any sort of label to define them. They don't want to be somebodies girlfriend, somebodies boyfriend, husband, wife and even significant other. I never understood this.

For me, I was always the hopeless romantic. I loved being somebodies boyfriend. Assuming that the other person wanted to be in a relationship, I was in. I loved defining a relationship. Are we dating? Are we exclusive? Am I your boyfriend? Are you my girlfriend? I think that these are questions that should be answered. Now not everyone is going to agree with this. In fact I know several people who believe just the opposite. They don't want any label defining who they are. I don't get it. And I'm not going to start. Because I've never believed that way of thinking. I think that the more labels you put on a relationship, the better. That way, everything is clear and understood. But then what about love? Is love considered a label? Can you put a label on love? Or should you? Is that why its called falling in love? Because you fall into a category? Because love is in fact a label. Love is the term for something when you feel absolutely overcome with happy emotion. I guess that's a good way to put it. So in that case....when you fall in love, you fall into a label. You become labeled "in love". But I think that anyone who is willing to say that they are in love, they should be accepting to labels. To being somebodies something. I am in fact somebodies husband. I love being a husband. I love having the ring on my finger and having a marriage certificate. Which when you think about it, is a label.

I like labels. I think labels are a good thing. That way, you know where you stand. You know who you are and you know what direction you're heading. And the best part is, it has nothing to do with how you act as a human being and doesn't limit your potential for any opportunities that present themselves. I like labels, but not everyone does and that's OK. That's just the way it should be ya see.

My Top 5 Favorite TV Shows

So here are my Top 5 favorite TV shows of all time.

1) - Dawson's Creek - I get made fun of a lot for loving this show, but I don't care. I love it. It came out just as I started high school. It was kinda cheesy, got kinda dumb towards the end but I still own all the seasons on DVD. The music was awesome and I even got to go to the spot where it was filmed. I always wanted to be Pasey but I am the Dawson. I don't know why but I love this show.

2) - The Office - I have all the seasons of this show on DVD as well. I think its the funniest show on TV. Steve Carrell is awesome, the story lines are flippin hilarious and the characters are even better. I'm bummed that Steve Carrell is leaving the show but the story leading up to it will be awesome.

3) - How I Met Your Mother - Might be tied with The Office as the funniest show on TV but in my list, its #3. I can literally sit down with a buddy and talk forever about the episodes and incidents of this show. The slap bet, slapsgiving, revenge of the slap, the crazy/hot scale, Robin Sparkles, crazy eyes, the use of the word awesome. The list goes on. God I love this show. I'm excited for how they reveal how Ted actually met the mother. Its going to be Legend...wait for it and I hope your not lactose intolerant because the second half of the word is....dary!

4) - Grey's Anatomy - I have all the seasons of this show too. My wife and I love this show. The story lines got kinda dull there in the middle but they're starting to get really good. And the finale of this last season where they guy was walkin around shooting people...my god...I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Good stuff.

5) - The Big Bang Theory / Friends - This last spot is a tie between Big Bang Theory and Friends. I can't decide between the two. The Big Bang Theory is awesome but Friends has some classic stuff. Too hard to decide so its a tie. Its my list and I can do that.

So there's my Top 5 favorite TV shows of all time. Feel free to leave your Top 5. Yes Indeed!

Top 5 Favorite Actors (Not All Time)

So here are my Top 5 favorite actors. Not my favorite actors of all time. That might be a little too hard (that's what she said). These are actors currently making movies pretty regularly.

1). Steve Carrell - The Office, Bruce Almighty, 40 Year Old Virgin, get Smart, Date Night.....the guy is hilarious. And he's just such a fun guy. I want to go have a beer with him or somethin....ya know. Good stuff. (Sucks that he's leaving The Office)

2). Leonardo Dicaprio - He's been killin it lately. Blood Diamond, The Departed, Shutter Island, Inception. And his early stuff is freakin great too. He's a solid actor. Hard to believe he hasn't won a Oscar yet.

3). Johnny Depp - Johnny Depp is the man. I loved all the Pirates' movies, and he freakin delivers in any role. Hard to believe he hasn't won an Oscar yet either. Whats the deal with that. My friend Ellen would put him #1 but on my list, he's 3....sorry Ellen.

4). Matt Damon - This guy tears it up in any role he's in. Those Bourne movies were awesome as hell. And he's funny too. Cool guy.

5). Joseph Gordon-Levitt - I absolutely fell in love with 500 Days of Summer and he was bad ass in Inception. And freakin 3rd Rock from the Sun cmon.Watch for this guy. Good things are to come.

So there's my list, leave yours in the comments. Remember its not all time, its current. Yes Indeed!

Honorable Mentions - Will Smith, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Edward Norton, Anton Yelchin, Robert Downey Jr.

Inception

HOLY S***! This movie blew me away. There is so much going on with this movie that I don't even know if I can fit it in to a blog.....but I'll try.

So Christopher Nolan does it again and delivers. This is by far his best work. There is so much story to this that I was on information overload and yet was still able to follow along. The idea is that while your sleeping other people can infiltrate your mind and extract information from it. Now there is a lot more that goes into it but that is the basic idea. The idea behind inception is that instead of retrieving information, you plant an idea adjusting a person's whole belief structure. And that is where the movie goes. The writing that went into this movie is almost beyond comprehension. Nolan's story goes from whoa....to unreal.....to holy s***. A dream within a dream within a dream within a dream. My mind was mesmerized and I kinda felt like I was high or something. And the effects make you feel like the building in which you are watching the movie is going to start turning on itself. This movie was absolutely amazing! And Leonardo DiCaprio tore it up in this one. He's definitely on the list for my top 5 favorite actors (coming soon). And Joesph Gordon-Levitt was also rockin the s*** in this one. Fighting someone without gravity, nasty! He's also on that top 5 list.

Go see this movie and try to see it in the theater, the feeling you get is that of dreaming. I probably need to update my Top 5 favorite movies cause this one will be in it. Watch this movie and check out Christopher Nolan's other movies. He's writes and directs all of them. Memento, Insomnia, The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Inception.

God this movie was so good.....yes in-freaking-deed!

Top 5 Chick Flicks for Dudes

So here is a list of what I think are the best chick flicks for dudes. Meaning movies that are decent and or funny enough to watch without a chick. Hopefully I don't get made fun of too much for this one.

1). He's Just Not That Into You - I don't know why, but I love this movie. It breaks down several different aspects of relationships into 2 hours of film. And I totally was the Ginnifer Goodwin character always wondering if she was going to call and or analyzing every little detail which is sad I know but true nonetheless. My friends even gave me the book when I had a rough break up with a girl except they changed the name to SHE'S just not that into you. Anyways, good flick. Watch it.

2). Love Actually - This is a great film all around and has good acting, great interweaving stories and good ending. If you haven't checked this one out....watch it.

3). Mean Girls - Back when Lindsay Lohan was attractive and sane, she did this movie and it was freaking hilarious. Cmon, it was written by Tina Fey and some SNL guys in there. Hot chicks and comedy.....watch it.

4). Pretty Woman - A 1990's Julia Roberts playing a hooker....nuff said, watch it.

5). The Proposal - Went to go see it with my wife and actually liked it more than I thought I would. Some really funny parts along with some decent stuff from Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Watch it.

So that's my Top 5. If you don't like....guess what its my list. Feel free to leave your list in the comments if you want.......yes indeed.
