Top 5 Arnold Schwarzenegger Movies

So I watched a couple Schwarzenegger movies recently and I started thinking about my favorites. So I figured I should do a Top 5. So here they are. Here are what I think are the Top 5 Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.

1).
True Lies -
James Cameron at his best. It's one of the best action movies and it has some great stunts. Arnold is perfect at portraying the family man who is secretly a spy. Also, there are some great lines in this movie. For instance, the scene where he explains what he is going to do to the bad guys and the guard asks him how?....."You know my handcuffs?.....I've picked them". Just awesome. Action, comedy and a good story make this the best Schwarzenegger movie of all time.

2). Predator -
Predator! Love this movie. It's Arnold one on one with an alien. Awesome. His team gets killed off on by one and he's left alone in the jungle and he just tears it up! Yeah! Bad ass. You can't go wrong with Predator. "Your one ugly mother f***er........classic.

3). Terminator 2: Judgement Day -
This one speaks for itself. The first Terminator movie was awesome! This one was better. This is just classic Arnold. "Asta la vista....baby". I mean it's just a good movie. Another James Cameron movie.

4). Commando -
This movie, is the perfect 80's action movie. Arnold has 11 hours to get his daughter back and he has to go up an entire army......and he wins. It's great. The bad guys just unload thousands of rounds of bullets Arnold never gets touched. It also has one of the best Arnold lines. "You know how I said I'd kill you last?......I lied". Good stuff.

5).
Twins - This one might not be on everyone else's top 5 list but I think it should be. Out of all the softer Schwarzenegger movies, this one is by far the funniest. Arnold's twin brother is Danny Devito? I mean that's just fun. It's got a little bit of action mixed in with some adult humor and it makes for a good movie.

So there we go. The Top 5 Schwarzenegger movies. I know some people might not agree with all my choices or the order of them, but it's my blog so it's my list. Yes indeed.

The Yes Indeed Papers Salute...

Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman Is my February pick for the unappreciated actor. Alan Rickman is the man! He is great in every role. He has so many roles that have just been just so good. I mean the guy is one of the best movie villian's of all time. He's Hans Gruber for crying out loud. Awesome! Rickman killed it as the Sheriff of Nottingham. He has one of the best death scenes in movie history from that movie. The guy can also do comedy. His performance as the Metratron is perfect and he practically carries the movie Galaxy Quest. But one of his more famous roles besides Die Hard has got to come from the Harry Potter series. Severus Snape is kind of a bad ass for a PG-13 movie series that stems from a kid's book. Alan Rickman is awesome in every movie he's in. Here are some of his more memorale roles:
  • Die Hard
  • Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
  • Sense and Sensibility
  • Rasputin
  • Michael Collins
  • Dogma
  • Galaxy Quest
  • Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone
  • Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince
  • Harrry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 1
  • Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 2
  • Love Actually
  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
  • Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
  • Alice In Wonderland (voice)

Alan Rickman is a brilliant actor and I'm shcoked that he hasn't won an Oscar yet. He is awesome in every role he's in and I'm sure he'll have more to come. So from everyone here at The Yes Indeed Papers (and by all of us, I mean just me), Alan Rickman.....we salute you! Yes Indeed!

Dave Song of the Month.....

Why I Am

I grew from monkey into man
Then I crushed 15 million with a wave of my hand
I grew drunk on water turned into wine
Til I was slave and master t the same damn time

It's why I am It's why I am
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king

Out of my hands and into the room
Hello

A king of men it makes no sense
When I bow to the priest while I worship the witch

It's why I am always the one to make you smile
It why I am still a snake in the woodpile
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king

Out of my hands and into the room
So when my ghost takes me from you
You can remember the fool that I am
Don't cry baby don't cry

It's the lose and the win of the world
Wrong and right us and them of the world
The you and the me of the world
Only one way out of the world

It's why I am unlikely to agree
It's why I am climbing out of my monkey tree
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king
We'll be drinking big whiskey while we dance and sing
And when my story ends it's gonna end with him
Heaven or hell I'm going there with the groogrux king

It's why I am the apple of your pretty eye
It's why I am a snake in the woodpile
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king

Out of my head and into the room
So when my ghost takes me from you
You can remember the fool that I am
Don't dry baby don't cry

8 Movies, 8 Reviews

So its been a while. I had some recent technical difficulties which prevented me from making any entries. So my apologies to any one who actually follows this thing..
With that out of the way, in order to catch up, I've decided to play "catch up" and make one big entry. 8 movies, 8 quick reviews. And here we...go!

1). Warrior -
This movie was unbelievable! It flew right under the radar due to the whole UFC/MMA angle, and the fact that the cast was relatively unknown. However, this movie is one of the best movies that I've seen in a really long time. 2 estranged brothers enter into a MMA tournament only to wind up in the final match together! Beautiful acting, a great script and some really intense scenes make Warrior my vote for the best movie of 2011! I'm actually surprised at myself for not giving Warrior it's own entry. You know what....I think I'll do that.

2). In Time -
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. Mainly for the simple fact that it's an original idea! In the future, you don't age past 25, and if you have enough time, you can live forever. Time is like money and when you run out of time, you run out of life. I mean, original right? Timberlake gives a good performance in this futuristic thriller. My only complaint is that they didn't do more with it. The could have done more action scenes and a better ending, but overall, it was good.

3).The Change Up -
The premise has been done before. Two people who have different personalities switch bodies. However, they have never done a Rated R version of it. And after watching it, I'm glad they did it. A raunchy, bad language comedy that is extremely funny. Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds kill it. Just watch it!

4). Super 8 -
Loved
it. I thought it was another original movie from Writer/Director J.J. Abrams. He brought a little of his own childhood to the big screen. Making movies with a super 8 camera, a group of young kids discover something that could not only change their lives, but end it. Abrams used a young talented cast and the way he shot the movie, made you feel like you were watching a movie from your childhood. I don't know if that makes sense, but watch it and you'll get it. My only complaint is the reveal of the "monster", was a little disappointing. But overall, this was a great movie!

5). Cowboys and Aliens -
Didn't love it. But I didn't hate it. Still not entirely sure of the plot, but it's still fun to watch. I wasn't a huge fan of the aliens, but they were different and it's still a fun movie.

6). Friends With Benefits -
I loved this movie. I thought it was hilarious. Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis are perfect together. The reason that this romantic comedy is so good? It's Rated R! So you have the adult humor that is neccesary for the plot. I loved this movie. A perfect movie for this years Valentines day.

7). Rise of the Planet of the Apes -
I didn't think I was going to like this movie, but I loved it. The story was great, the acting was good and it tied everything in with the older movies. The real reason that this movie is good, is the capture-motion technology that they did. They role of Caesar was played by a real person. Now, obviously they used special effects for the final cut, but the facial expressions, the movements and the emotion that was neccesary for this movie was done remarkably by actor Andy Serkis. The story involves a scientist trying to find a cure for alzheimers and accidentally makes a sirum that enhances the brain function of apes. There's a lot more to it than that, but I didn't want to give anything away. Watch it. Great movie.

8). Real Steel -
Loved it, loved, loved it! It's Rocky with robots. Instead of boxing, they use robots. Hugh Jackman is a down on his luck bot fighter and needs money bad. But instead, he gets his son who's mother just died and he and the kid come across the junk robot who actually might be the big break that both were looking for. The movie was great and again, an original story....for the most part. Anyways, one of the better movies that I've seen in a while.

So
there we are. 8 movies, 8 reviews. I recomend all of these for a movie night. Check em out....yes indeed!
