Top 5 Best Movies That No One Know About

So there are so many occasions where I'll mention a movie that I like or have watched recently and people go......what movie? So I've decided to do an entry on it. So here are what I think are the Top 5 movies that nobody knows about.

1). Deathproof
- My # 3 movie of all time. I mention what my favorite movies are. I get to this one and people go....what movie is that? So I tell them. It's kind of hard to explain without giving too much away. All I will tell you is that it is Quentin Tarantino at his best. And nobody knows about! Watch it and you won't regret it. So damn good!

2). Warrior
- One of my new favorites and I've been telling everybody about it. This movie blew me away. I won't talk about it too much because this will be the third time that I've mentioned so far. But I can't help it. It is so good. And the reason that it's on this list is that either people don't about it and heard a little bit, but because it didn't have huge megastar actors in it, nobody saw it. Watch it and get blown away.

3) Win Win -
Heard about this one from some friends of mine. So I watched it and loved it. Actually did an entry on this one too. This well written, well casted movie flew right under the radar as well. But if you take the time to watch it, you'll be very pleased that you did. Love this movie!

4). Charlie Bartlett
- Heard about this one from a friend as well and again, I was very pleased. An unknown actor named Anton Yelchin stars in the title role and gives a fantastic performance. This movie is extremely funny but there is a lot of heart behind it. Watch it. It's well worth it.

5). Run Fatboy Run
- Saw a trailer for this one when it was coming out. Looked funny but didn't get too excited about it. Came across it one day, watched it and fell in love with this movie. This movie is similar to Charlie Bartlett in the sense that it is really funny but there are several moments that are very touching and emotional. I actually got teary eyed at the end of this one.

Honorable Mention - 500 Days of Summer
- The only reason it didn't make the list? More people know about it than the others. But I still hear about people who have never heard of it so I thought it was worth mentioning.

So there they are. The top 5 movies that I think nobody know about. If your looking for a new movie to watch and don't know what you want, seriously think about any one of these. These movies flew right under the radar and deserve much more attention. FYI- I have done an entry on every single one of these movies. For your information. So check em out! Yes indeed.

The Descendants

So I've been waiting to see this movie for a while. After the performance that Clooney gave in "Up In The Air", I couldn't wait to see this performance. So after watching it, I have to say, my overall rating is.....not bad but it was missing something.

The Descendants stars George Clooney as a father of 2 who inherited a rich amount of land in Hawaii. Along with his many cousins that a own a part as well, he and he alone has to decide what to do with the land. Either way, they will become very very rich. While all this is going on, his wife of many years, is in a coma from a terrible boating accident. He then decides to go retrieve his teenage daughter from a boarding school to have her home while all this is going on. His oldest daughter is played by Shailene Woodley who I think gives a breakout performance and should have been nominated for best supporting actress. She was awesome and what I think the best part of the movie. Now for twist, he discovers through his daughter no less, that his wife was cheating on him. So what do you do in that situation. You find out your wife has been cheating on you when she's in a coma. You have 2 daughters who are super emotional and you have to decide the fate a piece of historic Hawaiian land. It's no wonder why this movie won Best Adapted Screenplay and was nominated for Best Picture.

The Descendants is a great film. My only issue with it, is that it is super depressing and there are only a few moments of clarity. I guess that's what real life is, but I was hoping for a lighter undertone. But, The Descendants is still an amazing movie. It has a lot of emotion, some comedy and fantastic acting. Watching it is worth it, just know going in that your probably going to get a little sad. Good good stuff.....yes indeed.

Warrior

So I did a quick review on Warrior in another entry and I mentioned that it is such a good movie, that it deserves it's own entry. So here it is. The movie, what I think, was the best movie of 2011. I am shocked that it only got nominated for 1 award. Probably one of the most underrated movies in a long time, an not too many people know about it.

Warrior stars Tom Hardy who is recently back from Iraq, crashes with estranged father and starts training at a MMA/boxing club. He puts a beating on the #1 middle weight in the world and gets enrolled into a world wide tournament for the best fighter in the world. While all this is going on, his brother, Joel Edgarton, is on the other side of the city trying to do what he can from losing his house. Edgarton works as a Physics teacher, trying to make ends meet to provide for his wife and 2 kids. He makes the decision to start fighting again to make extra money, buts ultimately gets suspended when the school finds out about it. So because of his new free time, he decides to fight full time and actually gets into the same tournament his brother is in. The 2 brothers are estranged themselves over some personal history with their parents and actually only have 1 conversation throughout the entire movie. They wind up facing each other in the tournament and......well you'll just have to watch to see what happens. But I will say this.....I've never seen a fight with so much emotion......ever.

Warrior is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Tom Hardy and Joel Edgarton give amazing performances and Nick Nolte plays their father and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. I can't believe that was the only award that this movie was nominated for. Warrior has a great story, and a fantastic cast. It's super intense and will probably make most people cry. If you haven't seen Warrior, go buy it because you'll wanna watch it over and over again. Yes Indeed.

Dreamgirl

I would dig a hole all the way to China
Unless of course I was there
Then I'd dig my way home
If by diggin’ I could steal... the wind from the sails
Of the greedy men who rule the world

Still you're my best friend
And after a good, good drunk...you and me
Wake up and make love after a deep sleep
Where I was dreamingI was dreaming of a
Dream Girl

I was feeling like a creep
As I watched you asleep
Face down in the grass in the parkIn the middle of a hot afternoon
Your top was untied and I thought how nice
It'll be to follow the sweat down your spine

You're like my best friendAfter a good, good drunk...you and me
Wake up and make love after a deep sleep
Where I was dreaming
I was dreaming of a
Dream Girl

Caught by a wave
My back to the ocean
It knocks me off my feet and
Just as I find my footing
Here you come again
Dream Girl

Top 5 Arnold Schwarzenegger Movies

So I watched a couple Schwarzenegger movies recently and I started thinking about my favorites. So I figured I should do a Top 5. So here they are. Here are what I think are the Top 5 Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.

1).
True Lies -
James Cameron at his best. It's one of the best action movies and it has some great stunts. Arnold is perfect at portraying the family man who is secretly a spy. Also, there are some great lines in this movie. For instance, the scene where he explains what he is going to do to the bad guys and the guard asks him how?....."You know my handcuffs?.....I've picked them". Just awesome. Action, comedy and a good story make this the best Schwarzenegger movie of all time.

2). Predator -
Predator! Love this movie. It's Arnold one on one with an alien. Awesome. His team gets killed off on by one and he's left alone in the jungle and he just tears it up! Yeah! Bad ass. You can't go wrong with Predator. "Your one ugly mother f***er........classic.

3). Terminator 2: Judgement Day -
This one speaks for itself. The first Terminator movie was awesome! This one was better. This is just classic Arnold. "Asta la vista....baby". I mean it's just a good movie. Another James Cameron movie.

4). Commando -
This movie, is the perfect 80's action movie. Arnold has 11 hours to get his daughter back and he has to go up an entire army......and he wins. It's great. The bad guys just unload thousands of rounds of bullets Arnold never gets touched. It also has one of the best Arnold lines. "You know how I said I'd kill you last?......I lied". Good stuff.

5).
Twins - This one might not be on everyone else's top 5 list but I think it should be. Out of all the softer Schwarzenegger movies, this one is by far the funniest. Arnold's twin brother is Danny Devito? I mean that's just fun. It's got a little bit of action mixed in with some adult humor and it makes for a good movie.

So there we go. The Top 5 Schwarzenegger movies. I know some people might not agree with all my choices or the order of them, but it's my blog so it's my list. Yes indeed.

The Yes Indeed Papers Salute...

Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman Is my February pick for the unappreciated actor. Alan Rickman is the man! He is great in every role. He has so many roles that have just been just so good. I mean the guy is one of the best movie villian's of all time. He's Hans Gruber for crying out loud. Awesome! Rickman killed it as the Sheriff of Nottingham. He has one of the best death scenes in movie history from that movie. The guy can also do comedy. His performance as the Metratron is perfect and he practically carries the movie Galaxy Quest. But one of his more famous roles besides Die Hard has got to come from the Harry Potter series. Severus Snape is kind of a bad ass for a PG-13 movie series that stems from a kid's book. Alan Rickman is awesome in every movie he's in. Here are some of his more memorale roles:
  • Die Hard
  • Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
  • Sense and Sensibility
  • Rasputin
  • Michael Collins
  • Dogma
  • Galaxy Quest
  • Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone
  • Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince
  • Harrry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 1
  • Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 2
  • Love Actually
  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
  • Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
  • Alice In Wonderland (voice)

Alan Rickman is a brilliant actor and I'm shcoked that he hasn't won an Oscar yet. He is awesome in every role he's in and I'm sure he'll have more to come. So from everyone here at The Yes Indeed Papers (and by all of us, I mean just me), Alan Rickman.....we salute you! Yes Indeed!

Why I Am

I grew from monkey into man
Then I crushed 15 million with a wave of my hand
I grew drunk on water turned into wine
Til I was slave and master t the same damn time

It's why I am It's why I am
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king

Out of my hands and into the room
Hello

A king of men it makes no sense
When I bow to the priest while I worship the witch

It's why I am always the one to make you smile
It why I am still a snake in the woodpile
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king

Out of my hands and into the room
So when my ghost takes me from you
You can remember the fool that I am
Don't cry baby don't cry

It's the lose and the win of the world
Wrong and right us and them of the world
The you and the me of the world
Only one way out of the world

It's why I am unlikely to agree
It's why I am climbing out of my monkey tree
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king
We'll be drinking big whiskey while we dance and sing
And when my story ends it's gonna end with him
Heaven or hell I'm going there with the groogrux king

It's why I am the apple of your pretty eye
It's why I am a snake in the woodpile
Why I am still here dancing with the groogrux king

Out of my head and into the room
So when my ghost takes me from you
You can remember the fool that I am
Don't dry baby don't cry

8 Movies, 8 Reviews

So its been a while. I had some recent technical difficulties which prevented me from making any entries. So my apologies to any one who actually follows this thing..
With that out of the way, in order to catch up, I've decided to play "catch up" and make one big entry. 8 movies, 8 quick reviews. And here we...go!

1). Warrior -
This movie was unbelievable! It flew right under the radar due to the whole UFC/MMA angle, and the fact that the cast was relatively unknown. However, this movie is one of the best movies that I've seen in a really long time. 2 estranged brothers enter into a MMA tournament only to wind up in the final match together! Beautiful acting, a great script and some really intense scenes make Warrior my vote for the best movie of 2011! I'm actually surprised at myself for not giving Warrior it's own entry. You know what....I think I'll do that.

2). In Time -
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. Mainly for the simple fact that it's an original idea! In the future, you don't age past 25, and if you have enough time, you can live forever. Time is like money and when you run out of time, you run out of life. I mean, original right? Timberlake gives a good performance in this futuristic thriller. My only complaint is that they didn't do more with it. The could have done more action scenes and a better ending, but overall, it was good.

3).The Change Up -
The premise has been done before. Two people who have different personalities switch bodies. However, they have never done a Rated R version of it. And after watching it, I'm glad they did it. A raunchy, bad language comedy that is extremely funny. Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds kill it. Just watch it!

4). Super 8 -
Loved
it. I thought it was another original movie from Writer/Director J.J. Abrams. He brought a little of his own childhood to the big screen. Making movies with a super 8 camera, a group of young kids discover something that could not only change their lives, but end it. Abrams used a young talented cast and the way he shot the movie, made you feel like you were watching a movie from your childhood. I don't know if that makes sense, but watch it and you'll get it. My only complaint is the reveal of the "monster", was a little disappointing. But overall, this was a great movie!

5). Cowboys and Aliens -
Didn't love it. But I didn't hate it. Still not entirely sure of the plot, but it's still fun to watch. I wasn't a huge fan of the aliens, but they were different and it's still a fun movie.

6). Friends With Benefits -
I loved this movie. I thought it was hilarious. Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis are perfect together. The reason that this romantic comedy is so good? It's Rated R! So you have the adult humor that is neccesary for the plot. I loved this movie. A perfect movie for this years Valentines day.

7). Rise of the Planet of the Apes -
I didn't think I was going to like this movie, but I loved it. The story was great, the acting was good and it tied everything in with the older movies. The real reason that this movie is good, is the capture-motion technology that they did. They role of Caesar was played by a real person. Now, obviously they used special effects for the final cut, but the facial expressions, the movements and the emotion that was neccesary for this movie was done remarkably by actor Andy Serkis. The story involves a scientist trying to find a cure for alzheimers and accidentally makes a sirum that enhances the brain function of apes. There's a lot more to it than that, but I didn't want to give anything away. Watch it. Great movie.

8). Real Steel -
Loved it, loved, loved it! It's Rocky with robots. Instead of boxing, they use robots. Hugh Jackman is a down on his luck bot fighter and needs money bad. But instead, he gets his son who's mother just died and he and the kid come across the junk robot who actually might be the big break that both were looking for. The movie was great and again, an original story....for the most part. Anyways, one of the better movies that I've seen in a while.

So
there we are. 8 movies, 8 reviews. I recomend all of these for a movie night. Check em out....yes indeed!

Dave Song of the Month...

Christmas Song

She was his girl; he was her boyfriend

She be his wife; take him as her husband

A surprise on the way, any day, any day

One healthy little giggling dribbling baby boy

The wise men came three made their way

To shower him with love

While he lay in the hay

Shower him with love love love

Love love love

Love love is all around

Not very much of his childhood was known

Kept his mother Mary worried

Always out on his own

He met another Mary for a reasonable fee, less than

Reputable as known to be

His heart was full of love love love

Love love love

Love love is all around

When Jesus Christ was nailed to the his tree

Said "oh, Daddy-o I can see how it all soon will be

I came to shed a little light on this darkening scene

Instead I fear I spill the blood of my children all around"

The blood of our children all around

The blood of our children all around

The blood of our children all around

So the story goes, so I'm told

The people he knew were

Less than golden hearted

Gamblers and robbers

Drinkers and jokers, all soul searchers

Like you and me

Rumors insisted he soon would be

For his deviations

Taken into custody by the authorities

Less informed than he.

Drinkers and jokers. all soul searchers

Searching for love love love

Love love love

Love love is all around

Preparations were made

For his celebration day

He said "eat this bread and think of it as me

Drink this wine and dream it will be

The blood of our children all around

The blood of our children all around"

The blood of our children all around

Father up above, why in all this anger have you fill

Me up with love

Fill me love love love

Love love love

Love love

And the blood of our children all around

All you need is love

You can't buy me love

Top 5 Movies That SHOULD Be Remade

There are no more original ideas in Hollywood anymore. So the studios decide to dust off some older movies, and give them an updated version of the movie. And people like myself just get frustrated. However, sometimes there are movies in history that were good ideas and were good for the time, but are in desperate need of a remake. If some movies from the 80's got a 2012 update, I think they would be awesome!

So here are what I think are the Top 5 movies that SHOULD be remade.

1). Robocop - This is a cool idea for a movie. Regular cop gets beaten within a inch of his life and gets a robot makeover. Pretty cool if you ask me. I even had the action figure. But if you watch this movie today, you almost have to look away because of the graphics and poor acting by Peter Weller. If you put some high quality actors in the movie and give it some of today's technology in it, this movie would be bad ass!

2). Spies Like Us - This movie is hilarious! Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase are an awesome comedy duo. The only thing wrong with movie is that no one knows about this movie. It flies right under the radar with some people today. I say, "ya know whats a funny movie?......Spies Like Us". And people are like....."what movie?". Which is just sad because this movie is so freakin funny. So if you remake this movie and put a couple of current SNL guys in it. Guys like Andy Samberg and Bill Hader. Or maybe Seth Rogen and Jason Segal. If you give it an update.....oh man, that would be awesome.

3). Revenge of the Nerds - I love this movie. But watching it today, I just feel that it needs to be redone. But maybe not go all out Nerd. Get rid of the pocket protectors, and high pants, and the glasses and put in some wimpy kids who can't get girls and like comic books. Like put in the cast of The Big Bang Theory and the kid who played McLovin in Superbad (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), make it Rated R and you got one hilarious movie.

4). Running Man - The idea has been done. Several different ways. A guy on Death Row has to compete in some sort of game to the death, and if he wins.....he gets his freedom. So just redo the exact same movie but give it an update. Put some bad ass assassins in the movie instead of some lame old guys with neon lights and stupid outfits. Put a decent action star in the movie, and that would be a movie that I would watch.

5). The Neverending Story - I watched this movie a hundred times as a kid. And it's still fun to watch today. The main reason that this movie needs a remake is graphics. 80's graphics are hard to look at now-a-days. And this one has a lot of them. With some 3D graphics and some big name kid actors in the roles and you got yourself a fun movie!

Honorable Mentions - The Breakfast Club - Some Kind of Wonderful - Bloodsport

So there they are. The Top 5 movies that SHOULD be remade. I hope that some of these movies actually get remade. That would be awesome. Yes Indeed.

Top 5 Worst Actors and Actresses

This entry has been long overdue. There are just some actors and actresses out there who can't really hack it. Are they good looking? Sure. Are they in a bunch of movies and make millions? You bet. But they are just not good at acting. So they are not free from my list. So here are who I think are the worst actors and actresses in movies. (with some honorable mentions)

1). Paul Walker - I can't stand watching this guy. He just can't act, and he keeps showing up in these action movies that require a little bit of acting ability that he just doesn't have. It makes sense that his last name is Walker because every time he is on screen, that's what i become...."A Walker" away from his movies.

Worst Performance: The Fast and the Furious

2). Jessica Alba - Is she beautiful? Without a doubt. Is she super sexy? Yes indeed. But can she act? Nope. Just watch Machete. Funny movie and I love Robert Rodriguez movies, but she was just hard to watch.

Worst Performance: Machete

3). Dane Cook - Is he funny? Extremely. I saw him in concert. He's hysterical. But he needs to just do that. He can't act. He just can't. Dane Cook....just stick to stand up comedy.

Worst Performance: Dan In Real Life

4). Megan Fox - Just like Jessica Alba. Is she incredibly sexy? Unbelievably sexy, but she can't act. Her looks will continue to put her in movies and that's fine. It's probably the only reason she was in Transformers 2. She was not missed in Transformers 3.

Worst Performance: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

5). Channing Tatum - Some of his line deliveries are just awkward. And there was a ton in G.I. Joe. He's just not that good. He's in some upcoming comedies so we'll see if does any better in those.

Worst Performance: G.I Joe

Honorable Mentions - Ashton Kutcher - Miley Cyrus - Paris Hilton - Jessica Simpson

So that's my list. These people just can't hack it. Yes Indeed.
