The Yes Indeed Papers Salute...

Rick Moranis

So I was channel surfing the other day and came across the movie, Little Giants. I remember watching it as a little kid. So I watched it and then I came to thinking....what is Rick Moranis doing? I haven't seen anything from him in a while. But then I started remembering all the good roles that he has been in and thought, he is really under appreciated. And the sad thing is, is that if I went up to a 18, 19 or 20 year old and said, who is Rick Moranis? They would probably say....who? And that is unacceptable because he's been in some good movies. Here are some of his more memorable roles:

  • Strange Brew
  • Ghostbusters
  • Ghostbusters 2
  • Brewsters Millions
  • Club Paradise
  • Little Shop of Horrors
  • Spaceballs
  • Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
  • Honey, I Blew Up the Kid
  • Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves
  • Parenthood
  • My Blue Heaven
  • The Flintstones
  • Little Giants
  • Big Bully

Rick Moranis is my May pick for my salute to the under appreciated actor. He's been in too many good movies and have had so many good roles to go overlooked. Rick Moranis is the man! And he needs to get the nod. So from of all us here at The Yes Indeed Papers, (and by all of us I mean just me) Rick Moranis, we salute you......yes indeed!

Chronicle

I saw this one last night. Awesome, awesome, awesome! I didn't know what to expect. The  cast is all unknown. I never heard of the director or the writers, and I wasn't really 100% sure as to what the plot was. But, after watching it, I found that it was great movie with an original idea. And the way, it was filmed, was really original as well.

Chronicle was filmed like the movie Cloverfield. Someone with a handheld video camera is basically shooting the entire thing. It revolves around one of the 3 main characters who decides one day to just start filming everything. They come across this....thing, that allows them the ability to move things with their mind. And essentially, the entire movie is them learning how to use, control, and master their new talent. One of them starts excelling and using it differently than he should. He can't control it as well as the others, because his life is not as good as the others. His mom is dying, his father drinks and hits him, and he is constantly picked on at school. What happens next is nothing short of awesome. Andrew loses control and......well that's enough. Make sure you watch it.

I loved Chronicle. The fact that it was filmed as if it was the point of view of one of the characters which makes the title work. And since it was done with an unknown cast makes the way it was filmed, believable. Chronicle is original, well written and has amazing special effects. Watch it! Yes indeed.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Watched this one recently. I didn't really expect much. When I heard about another Mission Impossible movie, I jut figured that Tom Cruise didn't know how to make any other movie. But since I'm a fan of the other 3, I had to give it a chance. And after watching it, I think it was the best one out of the whole series.

So again, I didn't expect much. The last Tom Cruise action movie was so awful, it doesn't deserve any recognition. You know that one with him and Cameron Diaz. Dreadful! But since I'm a fan of the series, I had to watch it. Like I said, I think it's the best one out of the whole series. Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt and gets broken out of prison to come back for a job, excuse me, mission. The mission fails and things go terribly wrong. The president initiates Ghost Protocol which means that the entire IMF has been disavowed. Not only that, but most of them has been killed. All but 4. Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, and Paula Patton. Their new mission is to fix what went wrong. So that means, everything that could go wrong, will go wrong. But it's mission impossible, not mission "gonna be hard". And because it's mission impossible, its makes it Mission awesome! The action in this movie is fantastic. There is one particular scene in which Tom Cruise must scale the outside of the tallest building in the world in order to get to a particular room. And it is intense. I know it's fake, but it looks like someone is actually doing it. Regardless, it is my favorite part of the movie. The plot is good but not too complicated, the action is phenomenal, the acting is pretty decent and overall....it's a really good movie.

If your in the mood for a really good action movie, Mission Impossible 4 is the way to go. Check it out. Yes indeed.

Dave Song of the Month

Stay

We were walking
Just the other day
It was so hot outside
You could fry an egg
Remember you were talking
I watched as sweat ran down your face
Reached up and caught it at your chin
Licked my fingertip
Wasting time
Let the hours roll by
Doing nothing for the fun
Little taste of the good life
Whether right or wrong
Makes us want to stay, stay, stay

For awhile

Later on the sun began to fade
Then the clouds rolled over our heads
And it began to rain
Oh we were dancing mouths open
Splashing tongue taste
For a moment this good time would never end
You and me
You and me
Just wasting time
I was kissing you
You were kissing me love
From good day into a moonlight
Now a night so fine
Makes us wanna stay, stay, stay, stay for awhile

Wasting time
I shall miss these things

When it all rolls by
What a day
Wanna stay, stay, stay, stay for awhile

Hey love
Oh just groping you
Rolling in the mud
Stay a while
Come on love
Wanna stay, stay, stay, stay for awhile
